I thought this might make me like Taryn more but omg I hate her so much. Why did she want to be with Locke, he’s awful! I don’t understand what the point of this was. Nothing really happened or changed the meaning of the main story.

This series has surprised me. It wasn’t what I imagined going into it but in the best way. It’s easy to read but at the same time, it’s tense, filled with twists and badass characters that I did not expect to love so much. Jude might just be my favourite FMC I’ve ever read about. She’s tough and skilled and smart but also vulnerable. The love between her and Cardan is subtle and intense. I love the world of Faerie and all the side characters. I love all the plot lines and how each book has lots of different settings. I love these books so much.

Yikes. The movie is truly way better. It drags so much in the second half. It’s repetitive, going through the same situations and outcomes again and again. I can’t even remember how they met, it wasn’t very interesting apparently. Also the writing style is irritating. She does this thing all the time: And then I realised. Happy. I was happy. And then it hit me. He was sad. And I knew then. It could never work. It’s like Carrie Bradshaw. Also, probably the biggest thing I didn’t like, was the age gap. I don’t mind an age gap but 20? It felt icky. There was nothing legally wrong (let’s not mention the underage sex from the other band members that is unpunished and just never mentioned again…) but the author brought it up so much that it started to feel like she was fetishising him. As if that’s the reason they were together. There was a weird scene where she was describing how perfect he was now and he would slowly age and get all ugly. But she had him now when he was perfect. Yuck. And lastly, personality where? They’re like pieces of toast, the both of them. If I didn’t listen to this on audiobook, I would have DNFd for sure.

Shook on that ending. I really did not see that coming. Maybe Cardan is truly bad and the series will end that way…?

Loved it! Fast paced, lots of twists and turns and the slow burn enemies to lovers is truly slow burning. Can’t wait to read the next one.

It wasn’t great. The ending was cool and that’s literally it. I had to listen to this as an audiobook to get through it. I hated how creepy the sex scene was ugh.

Definitely worse than the first one. It was slow to get through. Some bits were good and fast paced like the middle and ending but not my favourite.

I liked the ending but it wasn’t the most interesting book ever. I took longer than usual to read it. It kind of felt like most of the things were already settled and I wasn’t super invested.
