I honestly don't know how to rate this exactly. IT wasn't the perfect book but it was great for right now. I noticed a lot to be learned form this. And as it is a workbook, its one I will be reading again. The intersectionality is what stuck out the most. However, I will say, it does get repetitive if you're reading cover to cover. It's why it took me awhile to finish. I actually wound up listening to the audiobook toward the latter half.
In the beginning the author explains that the Fool, Magician and High Priestess cards were less about actions and more introspection to prepare. I didn't get that until I reread those parts after finishing the whole book. I definitely disagree with some of the attributes, but is that me getting bogged down in an excuse not to do the work? Probably. Does that mean I am wrong? No. For someone, a black woman someone, to have done all this work for me already I think I can find the time to find the few corresponding actions that would make more sense to me. Rather than just criticizing over what is ultimately my personal preferences.
Also, as a tarot reader I like how this is tied in with the archetypes rather than the images directly on the cards. It makes this work a tiny bit more accessible.

I continue to enjoy this series. Love the family aspect. It took a minute for me to really understand what the fmc was going through but I was rooting for her. Dude was simultaneously sexy and sweet. He's my new fave. There's a big theme of grief in here and I wasn't prepared. I low key needed it after this year.

This was cute. Once again wishing these books existed when I was the target age range. The plot wound up being more complex than I or the main character expected, lol. I like the theme of people's actions not being black and white, good or evil. Also confirmed I like the idea of paranormal and mundane mixing even in middle grade. And gosh these kids were cute. You just want to both protect them and let them free to explore the world. Maybe do things different than you as an adult would.

This had its ups and downs. Marcus is an introspective kid with mental health issues. So his intensely rants slow down the story. The action picks it back up. Then his coherent couture moonlights bring it back down again, lol. The killing, the violence, keep me wondering what's the point of this story. But the characters are all somehow likeable or relatable. Cliffhanger ending so definitely interested in continuing, but will I?

I'm looking for reasons not to give this 5 stars. There are none, lol. This was so good. The stakes were high. All the plot points came together. The magic was magical and at times whimsical. The characters were loveable with mixed motives and values. I loved Finn. Blood witches living on demon lane is fantastic, so I guess I love the dad jokes as well. I hope there's a followup book because
I want to see th seem look for Grandma Orla and Finn
. The narrator for the audio book also did a great job.

How to rate this when the case wasn't solved and our guys are still at the push and pull stage.  Lot of mysteries. And its been too long since I read the last one.

I like how simple this was. Great for beginner's like me. Some nice practices to start and ideas for an Ancestral Grimoire, plus ways to research ancestors. I recently was gifted her Antique Anatomy tarot and doing Ancestor work october prompts with it and picked this up fromt he library to augment. I read through it fairly quickly and have referred back to it often since. Time to get my own copy.

So, this is turning out younger than the first. Earning that new adult tag. I inhaled it anyway. Savage is definitely the most juvenile but in a playful, animalistic way. I don't know if that makes sense but he gives into his wolf-like nature and nobody ever stopped him. Anyway, now we're in a school setting that's pseudo prison-like. I don't quite get all the guys nor their motivations but I like them. I wonder who the 5th dude is. Also the friend group created is awesome. Bu I"m glad they all have some adultier adults around because the dad is worse.

Oh I loved this. The chemistry. Grumpy sunshine which is my fave romance trope. Devon being a closet cinnamon role romantic who likes to make lists. Reba who is a rainbow storm of fun. I'm glad to see them happy together in the end. And I may try making the rubik's cube cake.
