I loved the gods and goddess intertwined, the Black American history of WWI, but it was so slow in spots. It really picked up just over halfway through. I don’t know that this particular genre is for me.

The cover is hideous but I fricken loved this as an official adult novel

A timely listen with all that is going on in our country right now. A true window into the lives of Black folks and what they have to consider to stay alive on a daily basis.
