Mafia Darling by Mila Finelli
2.5
Well this one thoroughly disappointing as a second of the duet. Yes we got plenty of Fausto and Francesca once the beginning was out of the way, but it was still slow as hell and despite the action it just didn't hit right for me. Like yes Fausto is full of regret and is soft and patient but Francesca has every right to be absolutely pissed at him for what he did and therefore what happened to her, because it wouldn't have happened if she'd been with him.
Afterthe wedding and the shooting everything went quiet again and super special Francesca helped! It felt so cliche how she helped, but i did like her stepping upto the legitimate businesses to help, that showed growth for her. It's just a shame her education is never mentioned until the epilogue... It would make sense if when they'd discussed her working with the legitimate businesses that one of them mentioned this but nope... But the book was slow until about 70% and then it felt super rushed and everything to resolve the plot happened within the last 20% before the epilogue. Which then opened it up more for Giulio's future story. I won't be continuing I don't think.

I don't know how to feel about this one, yes it was good, I was rooting for Francesca and Fausto but for him to throw everything away because she didn't tell him Giulio was gay... Over-compensating for his lack of attention to detail. It makes me furious but also Francesca was a bit annoying with with her constant complaining, but just because she's apparently not loyal and is a gold digger, means he'll take her child from her? That is so far below low, it's despicable behaviour from Fausto.
What was with Marco and the cold shoulder for Francesca? He seemed pretty cool to start with and quickly got to be an asshole about her.
I will definitely be reading the second book, because I am sadly still rooting for Fausto and Francesca. I also want Giulio to get his happy ending although I assume he'll get his own book.

I did not enjoy this one at all, maybe it's because I didn't really care about the technology aspect? It just felt rushed and very strange.

I did not enjoy this one, it was drawn out and felt like a drag. Rhe premise seems pretty good but I feel like it could have been done better, or maybe I just wanted it to be longer, I don't know.

I did not enjoy this one as much... Yes it was unsettling the way they analysed everything and showed videos of the expected outcomes. What I didn't understand was why Annie chose those or was ot simply to make Sam realise she didn't want to use Vitek? What was significance of the old company and Vitek?

This one was really intriguing and thought provoking and it also made me uncomfortable with the way the "nag" kept talking about the Earth humans being inferior and the Founders (white men) being superior. Them designating that fenales that aren't "perfect" should not be called She or Her was incredibly demeaning but I guess that was the point. I did find it funny that the geniuses that left the planet, went off into multiple groups, had no females and most ending up failing magnificently. I wonder how that corresponds was it the lack of females or the hubris that led to the failure...

Well shit! That was fucking dark... I don't really know how to describe how I feel but it made me feel uncomfortable and honestly scared, but it was magnificent.

I enjoyed this short and it felt longer than it was, definitely made me think and I can't wait to read more of this series.

I really enjoyed this one, a lot more than expected. The basic premise drew my attention as did the fact that they're shifrers, which I love. As I started it I was ubsure if it was my cup of of tea but I kept reading, it was pretty slow IMO but I'm not sure if I'd class it as slow burn. I loved Kane and Gael so much, Reed too but a little less so and I saw Gael and Leogh a mile off, they have to be mates right?!
I liked that Kane was so invested in Brielles health and refused to let her reject him because of it. But also quite confused, as to how he was the only one in her life that saw/smelt the witches magic, except for the ODL... Also I have a feelingthat the witch magic is her mums best friends magic and it is used to hide her Omega magic so she wouldn't be killed. That the magic fed off her mum and now from Brielle. herself to keep her hidden. It does sound like that will continue to he a plot point in the following book about Shay and Dirge, so I do hope we get answers for that.
I loved the friendship between Leigh, Shay and Brielle, they're so loyal and yet completely opposite personality wise.
The epilogue is intriguing, I do wonder how Dirge knew Shay was there, I hope that gets explained, I am definitely interested in the next book because I liked Shay and did wonder what Dirge was like and why he went feral, so that could be interesting to explore.

I did not enjoy this one as much as the first. It was another one with hardly any plot and lots of sex scenes which sadly didn't really move the plot forward much. As much as I liked Theo as a character, I really didn't like Avery and I'm not sure why. I just didn't care about their dilemma which was easy to solve, I won't be continuing the series.
