A fun, quick book about creatures of earth who are endangered. In all the current chaos of the world, it was a nice little book to think about the wonder that still exists on our planet.

As someone who’s been devastated since it ended, the description had me at “Succession” and thank god it did because I loved this one. A messy family with one son running for office (admittedly he’s no Connor) and a curse that seems to kill off a family member every few Aprils, plus a sci fi twist. It sounds like it shouldn’t go together but I thought it was executed well and kept me engaged through the whole thing.

3.5 stars rounded up. This was a cute, mostly closed door romance about a woman who goes on twenty blind dates for a podcast, but keeps running into another man who she can’t stop thinking about. It’s a fun premise and an interesting look at the work that goes into the world of podcast making.

Good Dirt manages to somehow mix my three favorite genres: mystery, historical fiction, and contemporary fiction. I loved the mix of viewpoints as narrators, the different timelines, and the story revolving around one family but going off in many branches. The short chapters kept me saying “just one more” because I didn’t want to put it down.
