My god, this is beautifully written.

First, I feel like the blurb is kind of 'misleading'. Not a single character felt like a genuine main, and some are so weirdly placed in this story. While that in itself isn't as much of a problem, I feel as though an introduction should better reflect the, idk, plot? Definetly feels like it could've been split into two books.
Secondly... it was still so good. The character jumps weren't a drag at all, nor did I ever feel compelled to rush through a chapter to get to another character. They're all interesting in their own ways, and Marcella and her reckless-ish behavior was fun. The writing is good, the descriptions imaginative. The action scenes were fairly easy to follow and the more gore-y ones, in a way, non-clichély done.
BUT I so wish we would've gotten more Eli and Victor scenes too because what just happened at the end?
The doctor just popping back into the story and just as quickly dying? I get it, for the plot. Still though. And regarding Marcella, I thought she would play a much bigger role. I don't get what June's obsession with Sydney is nor why Sidney's resurrection progress led to no real high at the end. Dominic dying hurt my heart, but Mutch being alive and staying could not make me happier. But seriously, they found Mitch, figured and were SURE that he was human, and just left him? There's so much missing almost. And can I just say, Marcella and her repeatedly being like "Ugh, you're such a man. Yes, this is what I am seeing and you males aren't" is slightly annoying. We got it, trust, we got it. Every book should—must—include a mention of how disappointing men are but girl what actually was the point of you? Lastly, Victor's last message?? WHAT DO YOU MEAN? I don't know. During the read I had much more thoughts swirling in my head but now that I'm done, I don't remember half of it.
Still, the book genuinely made me not want to put it down, and now I just desperately want more of it! I enjoyed it and loved reading it, despite some, yk, executions.
(I wish I could enjoy Eli, too.)
Also, am I going crazy or is basically everyone blue-eyed?
