I read it for school and truthfully I don't remember much of this, just some bits and pieces. One of the hardest books to get through, since usually I can push through even if I don't want to, but this was a book to conquer. I don't feel like giving this one a rating, since this is a blur in my mind.
I think the second book's beginning ruined this book for me a little, but this won't influence my decision making that much. What influenced me more was the unbelievably nonsensicalchange that June went through. Our normal, in NOwayspecial FMC, who definitely doesn't become special in the end, nuh huh. The logic of how/why it happened kind of broke the world building for me and it disappointed me. A lot.
It was still fun and a quick read, but not a memorable one. Though, now that I'm thinking, the first meeting and the lake scene are actually pretty fresh on my mind, even after some time has passed since I read it. The rating is between 2 and 3 stars, but on Goodreads I'll stick with 2 stars, I think?
This was the beginning of my reading slump, if that tells you anything then I won't take credit for it!
To be honest, I don't remember that much, but I know that it felt like a whiplash. One of those moments where everything happens so fast you have to rewind to even grasp what the fuck just happened. It was a strange one, I won't ask myself why I read it, must've been one of those moods (I have questions tho).
Lilith was struggling a lot mentally and the stalker situation didn't help her one bit, (in what world would it ever help?? I don't know what I'm saying, but bear with me) I feel like this was a clusterfuck of things just happening because they could, while there was no solid plot to support.
Death itself is sure. It’s stable and consistent. You can rely on it happening.
