When Villains Rise by Giana Darling
5.0
Well, I just love Giana Darling. Her writing is so poignant and beautiful. Her characters are rich with life. While I loved the first book more (I'm always more interested when they're not together than when they finally get together LOL), this was enthralling and romantic and a true testimony to love healing all. I listened on audio half the book, too, and I have to say -- these narrators did a fabulous job! I highly recommend this duet and anything that Giana writes.
I'm Glad My Mom Died by Jennette McCurdy
5.0
This was a poignant memoir with some incredibly vulnerable moments. It was a rollercoaster that, at times, I wished I could help Jennette off of. I wanted to reach through the pages and pull her to safety. But even when it was difficult to read, it was gripping, and somehow hilarious. I appreciate dark humor. I appreciate the light shed on eating disorders even more. And I hope Jennette finds her happiness.
The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo by Taylor Jenkins Reid
5.0
My favorite read of the year so far. I was absolutely CONSUMED from beginning to end. The writing was wonderful, the story was captivating, the characters were impossible not to fall in love with. I found myself aching for more at the end and I'm SO THRILLED to know we have a movie coming. Can't wait to read more from this author. She has the unique gift of keeping you guessing and delivering on that suspense in the end. I loved every second!

Daisy Jones & The Six by Taylor Jenkins Reid

I fell in love with TJR after reading the Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo, and I loved this one just as much! It was such a wild ride and every character had such a strong voice. I half read/half listened to this one and the audiobook was PHENOMENAL. Highly recommend it.

This is EASILY in my top reads of 2022. It's sexy, smart, and swoon-worthy. I couldn't put it down. It was just simply addicting! Elsie Silver has earned a spot in my list of auto-buy authors. She's just fantastic!

It Ends with Us by Colleen Hoover
5.0
I love Colleen's books. My favorite has been Verity for a long, long time. However, as someone who grew up in a household of domestic abuse, I never knew I needed this book until I read/listened to it.
It was so damn cathartic.
I'll admit it was a slow start for me. I thought it was cute. But then, when everything started really unfolding, I found myself gripped to the page and unable to put this book down. The audiobook was also fantastic!
I can't wait to see this on the big screen, and I'm so excited to read the sequel. Five stars and highly recommended to anyone who loves emotional and realistic romances.
