Ehhh I’m only going to write a quick review for this one as I don’t have much to say about it. It was simply fine and as I expected.
The production was immersive and enjoyable to listen to, with a full cast, music and audio effects it did feel like scenes out of the video games or movie. It was also easy to have on for a couple hours without feeling tired of heavy dialogue.
But the story was it’s weakest part. For the first half I barely even knew what the story was other than trying to find some coins. And while there was some intense moments, with action, deceit and plenty of accusations, overall it wasn’t anything spectacular. Also throughout and even now I’m still unsure of whether I liked the performances of the characters, the main character I found a little cringe from time to time mostly because of the way she spoke, and that’s coming from a fellow Londoner.
Nonetheless it was long enough to be worth a listen but short enough to not drag or annoy me, and hey I got it for free included with Audible so I can’t complain too much.

Lots of fun!
My fav moment that perfectly sums up this show:
“Can you tell me who?”
“I can, but it would really spoil my next scene…”
“Gotcha, tell me while the theme music is playing so nobody will hear wha-“ *doop doop doop…*

A cool short story that was free on Audible. I really enjoyed the narration and the story itself was interesting with a similar sci-fi vibe to The Martian and Project Hail Mary. Only complaint is that it was too short, as I expected it would be. It felt like a first chapter to an awesome novel about the colonisation of a planet to save humanity. We got the set up and initial conflict but then all of a sudden it was all resolved after a cryo time jump where we’re told a happy ending. Now I just need a book of everything in the middle!

Revisited this classic which I studied for English Literature around 8 years ago and surprisingly it was even better than I remembered. Reading it a second time (or in this case listening) after everything that I learnt, really enhanced the intricacies and themes that may have gone unnoticed first time around. It’s also crazy how after all this time I still recognise the quotes that I had memorised for our exam!

Included with my Audible membership and a nice and short listen while I was doing other stuff. Interesting and informative with a great production. It sounded as good as a TV documentary, which did make me wish it was a TV program so I could see the wonders they are describing too.

That was so great! A really well-done time travel story with great reveals and twists, and full of thrills and emotions. Simple writing but uncomplicated, light and performed so brilliantly by Ray Porter that I enjoyed every minute of the journey. I can’t wait to dive into book 2, this might be a new favourite series!
