Decided to read this along with the audiobook as Wes Anderson was listed as one of the narrators. I’m glad I did both as there were differences in the verbiage. The audio used the British edition and the book I had was the American. Small differences but always fascinating to see the various differences between the major English vocabularies. Very entertaining overall. Wes Anderson should do more audiobook narration!

I wasn't expecting to ugly cry in my car while listening to this book but here we are. Honestly, I haven't been affected by a book like this since the ending of The Amber Spyglass. One of my favorite books of not only the year but of the past ten years. Gorgeous and unapologetic.

All of this could have been solved with either (a) therapy and/or (b) an in-depth, emotional conversation.

Still loved it though.

Any book that ends with me in my car, crying as I'm trying to navigate through LA traffic, is a winner to me. That ending punched me in the gut. I honestly think this could have been longer as the characters were engaging and I would have loved to spend more time with these boys.
