“Men at some time are masters of their fates:
The fault, dear Brutus, is not in our stars,
But in ourselves that we are underlings.”

I would say that it’s not fair of me to rate this play in the same manner which I would my others despite my decent understanding of the play.
I believe this play is beautiful, and I have nothing against Shakespearean plays but it didn’t make sense to me in the way which it ended. By this I mean in terms of the decision made about Brutus at the end. The way his characters think just don’t click in my head. But that’s a me issue.

“They all liked him. They liked the boy they believed he was.”

I found this at a thrift store and bought it because I’m doing an author study for my lit class and she happened to be one of the authors. I’ve read many of her short stories so I knew what I was getting myself into, however this book in particular grossed me out (more than just the surface level stuff). I understand that this was written in a different time, and homosexuality wasn’t as prevalent. But writing a book that explicitly shows an adult man being accused of preying on his students (particularly the male ones) is just derogatory. Especially when looking at her other books which are all heteronormative.
I understand that this is supposed to show the way people often read too much into teachers and the relationships they hold with their students and how a rumor as such could ruin a person’s life. However it is extremely inappropriate for a teacher to offer their STUDENT a drive home and stop for coffee on the way. Use your head.
The author in the first place I believe is extremely overrated and talked about more than she deserves. Her writing drags and all her novels are essentially the same story over and over. She states in many interviews that all her characters are very different from one another, but I cannot help see them as the same person because they all are predictable and body the same traits.
Dont waste your time with this read or this author.

“At night, with the light out and the curtains drawn, the ceiling was a void where once there was a galaxy of opportunity.”

Guys, i literally clicked on a random book because semester is finally over and i wanted to read something that wasn’t so hard on my brain so this is what i clicked on.
Anyways, I really liked the contrasting differences between the two characters, and their relationship was cute. But if you know me you know I dislike rom-coms😔. They just are not that entertaining for me, but cheers for the angst (even though it was minimal)
That’s pretty much all I have to say. This was just an average book, good way to pass the time.

This book was full of so much emotion, I finally gave into reading the book after my sister kept telling me to do it and I’ve got to say that I definitely do not regret it!

Safe to say when I picked up to read the book I was not expecting for Susannah die, I loved the plot twists thrown in. I love the kind of book that shock me so much to the point where I have to put the book down and process for a moment and this book definitely did that!

i’m gonna be honest, this book let me down. I was pretty excited to see who she finally picked, (though I could easily guess) I really only enjoyed the last 100 pages or so the rest of the book was pretty boring. That’s my opinion though.

I’m absolutely in love with this book, mainly sirius and remus..I love them two so much. I shouldn’t have to say much more to describe how good this series is as it is very popular, but this book is definitely one of my favorites out of the series!
