I really didn’t like the art style. It was hard to differentiate the characters, to the extent that I didn’t even realize Zuala was part of the test until she met up with Yasha.
Not my favourite.

I was a bit lost with the new characters introduced here, but ultimately it was a nice ride to discover how Vox Machina first got together. Im excited to read vol 2 to get to see Percy and Pike ☺️

I did t love it, but it was definitely miles better than Plagueis. Night and day, you could say. This book reads like an action movie. Everything happens at a hundred miles per hour. You barely have time to get one character before they die in the most brutal and gruesome way possible.
I didn’t think Star Wars could do cosmic horror, but here we are. Also that worm is the most disgusting thing ever. It was fun and sickening aplenty.
Schreiber clearly didn’t think his book through and it shows in the ending. I liked that the least out of it all. It was a serious let down with all the unanswered questions left hanging.
A good read for a horror take on SW, but don’t try to make sense of it in the larger timeline.
