The Trouble With Trying to Hook a Harbinger by Jennifer Cody
5.0
The Foxily family is back and expandingggg!! I swear I can never get tired of this family (please adopt me). They are so absolutely chaotic, but they stand by each other through ANYTHING. Don't even get me started on the cameos that we get in this book! All of my favorite characters making an appearance had me looking crazy, just smiling at my screen. How can you not love a family that's ready to kill for you??
Spoiler
can we just applaud Cody for feeding us an unexpected TWIST?!
The Adventure of Sterling Jones: A Murder Sprees and Mute Decrees Sidequest by Jennifer Cody

This is absolutely PERFECT for people who are looking for a shifter romance where the MC is just so unserious and extremely loveable! Jethro was such a red flag, but I was here for it 👀🚩. There was such high heat and a good amount of insta lust, with the addition of cameos from the other Murder Sprees and Mute Decrees books!

I loved Karsyn and Claude in the first two book so when I saw that they were the main characters in the third book I just couldn't wait!! But when Claude ripped a door off it's hinges because he was so excited to spend an EVENING with Alexei, I knew this book was going to be a favorite. The whole banter and the push and pull between them was just amazing

Absolutely love Marcus and Finn, but this definitely is the kind of book where I loved the side characters a whole lot more than the main characters

The way I absolutely DEVOURED this book in one day is just crazy.
Mia was feeding us ANGST throughout this entire book. The whole push and pull dynamic between Kirill and Yarik was just so beautifully written! It was raw, passionate, and so vivid (I swear it was like watching a movie). I loved both of these characters, from the first chapter all the way to the last, and I just completely lost myself in their story. The absolute YEARNING that was written in this book just goes unmatched.
And the gasp I gusped when I found out that this book was a HFN instead of HEA, with an absolutely INSANE cliffhanger?!

This book is absolutely perfect for people looking for a Mafia romance that doesn't have super dark themes and no grocery list of triggers.
The way Chai was so obsessed with Leo after meeting him once?! And the way Leo is so possessive of Chai throughout the entire book, yummy. I absolutely NEED all of that in my life right now, phew. The way we slowly see these two guys crashing head over heels in love with each other is absolutely everything. You got a Mafia setting with a dash of mystery all wrapped up with a double bi awakening and a couple of dorks; what more could you ask for??.

How to Vex a Vampire by Alice Winters

Thought I would take a break from contemporary and switch over to a little fantasy, and let me tell you, this book was surprising good! We have Finn, who is a human, working with Marcus, who is a vampire. Honestly, this book had so many great things in it—mystery and a cliffhanger, which did make it a HFN ending. Finn does have prosthetics, but he's so resilient with everything, and it doesn't slow him down, which I thought was really well written. Then we have Marcus, who gets all possessive when he SWEARS he hates Finn's entire being (yeah, right).

The whole Power Exchange written in this book?? Delicious. There was such an amazing combination of HIGH heat and just overall sweetness. Yes this is a Dark Romcom, but there were a handful of times were j just wanted to comfort Sweet Scotty 🥺 Is he absolutely delusional? Yes, but you know what I love him for that exact reason. He saw something he wanted and he did NOT back down until he got it. And the way Brody loved him in his own special way, that's goals right there.

I LOVE MY FINALE MEN!
They are constantly getting back up again and again, even when everyone basically has it out for them. But, Dear Lord, every single time a character from a previous book kept showing up, it was like witnessing the Avengers assemble. They've come such a long way since The Fence incident, and I just didn't want to stop reading their story. It's safe to say I loved every single character that was mentioned in this book. This is series is without a doubt one of the best things I've ever read.

The humor and action just melts perfectly together with my all time favorite family. Although, have you ever just met a character and wanted them to die in as many ways as possible? Yeah, that's me with Lucas. This man needs to be offed so badly. I needed him to die like two books ago (sorry). How dare he STILL try to manipulate Leland and Cassel when they were just trying to live life.
But I loved the little moments that showed Leland participating in the family activities because he never got to experience that as a kid
