The Martian by Andy Weir
4.0
Excellent debut novel! Even though it's sci-fi it was very much grounded in reality. Weir made it seem like I was reading about a real life drama unfolding. Few books keep me on the edge of my seat because they tend to be predictable. This was one of the exceptions for me. A definite read for any fan of science fiction
Dark Places by Gillian Flynn

An excellent page turner! Dark Places isn't just any other mystery novel. It's well written and unpredictable, even though my guess early on as to what had happened was somewhat close. A fine story! And creepy, too. It's undoubtedly worth the read if you are a fan of modern literature!
