June 09, 2023 (2nd read review):

Reading this for the first time was like finding a treasure you can't believe you were able to see, reading this for the second time? Feels like you're coming home after a long tiring day to your favorite grandmother's house that likes to bake you the best cookies.

I am speechless at how this book was written? Reading this made me forget about the harshness of the world. To say I recommend this book is an understatement, I am BEGGING everyone to read this book. Absolutely do it. Do it right now. Right this second.

This book was so wholesome:( although I very much cried when Barett made Sterling face his insecurities. I had mixed feelings when it seemed like Sterling and Barrett were moving too fast but the way this book acknowledged that and made them work for their relationship... If the first book is this good, I absolutely can't wait to read the second and third!! KM Neuhold, u have a little piece of my heart for this.

Four stars isn't an insult to the book, esp since a lot of the books I reread are four stars, I just didn't feel like it made me crazy enough to give it a perfect rating. My impression was that this is just a book for the people that only want to relax.

**SPOILERS AHEAD**

This was such a frustrating read to me. I really just wanted to keep going with this series because the plots are all so fun and just exactly what I want! But the writing just never gets it right! It felt like someone just wanted to write something so they did but it also felt like a project that the author loved because there would be such heartfelt scenes, scenes that I would've appreciated more if we tackled the issue of Curtis/Lawrence just fucking off after the sad attempt of Benji's mother to get him to leave Benji. In what world would that make sense, it's not even the fact he left because of that, it's the fact Benji was the one who chased him and even after all these years it seemed like Curtis is the only victim here. Imagine being gay and falling in love with another gay person and you both had homophobic parents you had to tolerate all throughout your growing years because you still don't know shit about handling yourselves and instead of having your lover stand with you HOURS AFTER YOUR SECRET WEDDING, they just leave. and you're the one to chase them. and you're the one still chasing them like it didn't traumatize you that the one person you thought loved you and was willing to grow old with you just left because of, what? A fucking recording that he knew himself deep inside could've been fake. And he let that be for nine fucking, agonizing years.

I'm not saying I would absolutely leave Curtis if I was Benji but I definitely would. How can you say you love him when you didn't even give him the chance to explain? Why would you waste so much time being angry and afraid when you could've been so happy, you DUMB FUCKING ASS BITCH. I hate this series. I actually was gonna rate this 2 stars and then I started my review and damn, I really hated this book.

It was okay. The pacing was a bit too fast for me, actual conflict was nowhere to be found. I feel like we could've explored Tucker's issue more, this could've been a longer book and it would be understandable. In the end, it just felt like the author wanted to get it over with. Definitely had potential but it just became forgettable.

This was so sweet and tender:( I absolutely adore Mattin. And I want to play with his hair too:(((( Suprisingly read this way too fast, I blinked and I was 44% in. I haven't been reading as much this year so it really took me by surprise how I easily read this.

REREAD: 05/21/24 - I read this book in 12 hours, it was so serious for me considering I haven't finished a proper book in 6 months. Like, OMG. As I said before, this is sweet and tender. This is my third time reading and I still get caught off guard with what happens in the book. I can't recommend it enough!

Mike is certainly a character I never expected to come from MV but I'm not complaining. Not at all.

THAT WAS IT?! I just needed one more chapter. No. Marina Vivancos is my new favorite author now omg. I read Rat Park twice before I thought to explore her other books and now I feel so stupid HSICNIE Marina Vivancos, u are so famous to me.

This book made me cry, dude. Just absolutely broke my heart into two. Emil being so patient with Isak and how it never faded? I'm so excited how many books of Mirana will make me cry. 2/2 so far.
