I loved this duology. There’s something that just hits right about a MM romance. For the first book, there was some discourse about Wes’ biphobia because Jamie is new to being with a man after not even realizing he was interested in Wes. I genuinely don’t even think that if they were to break up Jamie would be interested in another guy. I’m not gay/bi so I can’t really speak on too much on it but I don’t think Wes is biphobic. I just think it’s a new relationship and he’s still navigating it. It’s normal to feel some kind of jealousy or insecurities when you first begin dating, it’s also Wes’ first relationship. He says multiple times he doesn’t even know what he should be doing as a boyfriend.

I loved the issues that Jamie and Wes had, it was just so realistic. They’re in a new country, they don’t have anyone besides each other so of course they are going to be extremely codependent. I also admired how Jamie’s depression was handled. I live with depression and it is so mind boggling how it works. I can be okay one day and the next I have no interest in anything. With Jamie he had it after being sick and hospitalized back to back, Wes really tried to bring his spirits up without diminishing how he feels.

And another thing, Elle knows how to write a side character. Blake had me cracking up, he reminds me of Hollis. It was a tragedy we never got a book for him.

Ahhhhhhh this took me a while to finish BUT it was absolutely worth it. Sloane and Rowan’s story was a TRIP! They are both so funny, I wasn’t expecting this to be as lighthearted as it was because it is a serial killer dark romance but oh my god was it hilarious. And the plot twist??? OMG! I was not expecting
Mr. lobotomy
to do that. Absolutely insane. Rowan’s personality is everything I could want in a MMC. That epilogue was AMAZING. I cannot wait to read the Lachlan and Lark’s story, not so patiently waiting for my copy from my library.

I wasn’t a fan of
Eli being 100% about Leah AFTER speaking with Victoria.
otherwise I really enjoyed the book. It was a quick read and the friendship dynamics were fun
