A meandering mess. Essentially a collection of short stories, each with a protagonist that works at the fictional newspaper (that's never even given a name). There's no one to root for, no plot other than the (very often) boring everyday lives of the reporters. Not sure how this was one of The New York Times' best books of 2010.
