A mostly wordless text. Very expressive characters. Reminds me of the episode "Thank You" in Adventure Time.
Hank Finds an Egg by Rebecca Dudley

A wordless tale that could have just as easily been a stop motion animated short film! I love the craftsmanship of the scenes and the doll.
Berry Song by Michaela Goade

Phenomenal children's book. I can see why it's won so many awards. The drawings are lush and the message is true and clear. I learned about berries I had never heard of before and some of their indigenous names.

I love Trina Schart Hyman's illustrations. I enjoyed this adaptation of a classic as well.
In Every Life by Marla Frazee

This book reads like a (secular) prayer to the universe. I love the large size of the book and how it makes room for big, emotional, wordless two page spreads.
Cicada Symphony by Sue Fliess

The perfect children's book. The illustrations are vivid and reminiscent of Eric Carle. There is large rhyming text that sounds like a horror story at the beginning, and smaller text facts spaced throughout.

A fantastically illustrated sisterhood fairy tale; a first step restless growing up journey where you come back different.

A fine book with nice illustrations, but not particularly memorable.
