Debbie Macomber does not disappoint! This was exactly the kind of cheesy (in a good way), cheery romantic holiday story I needed! Macomber is a master of hilarious Christmas chaos, delightful characters, and irresistibly adorable couples. Thank you, Debbie Macomber, and Happy Holidays!

A okay cheesy Christmas romance novel that had me giddy, smiling, and laughing at times…but, even for my taste, it was a bit too cheesy. Also I didn’t love the characters or story quite as much as in 'Dashing Through the Snow' or 'Christmas Letters.' I liked them okay, but they got on my nerves at times and I wasn't completely invested in them. The plot, at time, was also a little overwhelmingly stereotypical and cliche. Probably won’t read again, but still a solid holiday reading pick.

Really not impressed. I love the masterpiece that is 'A Wrinkle in Time,' but the series peaked and, I would argue, really should have ended there. This book is like a clumsily written version of the exact same plotline, with the introduction of new characters and a new sci-fi world to try to disguise the eerie similarity. It also repeats several points and lines of dialogue throughout, and there were literally moments where characters would stand around talking for 30+ minutes, not really accomplishing anything, while someone's life and the fate of the universe was on the line (are these stakes sounding familiar)? There also seems to be next to no character development in Meg, Calvin, or Charles Wallace from the first book. In its defense, this book did have a couple interesting new characters and some suspense going for it, but I was about 65% of the way through the book before it really started getting 'good.' Would not recommend. Stick with the first book.

I think the eventual meaning and message of this book is a deep, interesting, and complex one that has the potential to evoke a lot of emotion, but to me, this effect was totally derailed by the main character. Adam, in my opinion, is a whiny, moody, and temperamental narrator who distracts from and really ruins the otherwise pretty fair plot. Would not recommend.

Imaginative and fun! A great little adventure story for kids, though in respect to cultural appropriateness, it is not good, and there is racially/culturally offensive material.
