smooth and comforting. I’ve been feeling weird and lonely and going through weird stuff. Couldn’t find an engaging read until this one. Reading about lonely young women makes me feel less lonely. Bananas writing feels like soothing herbal treatments  for the heart

Whoa.
So much to wrap my mind around (and reading it during Covid-induced fog is surely an experience). I enjoyed the shifting POVs and Oyeyemi did such a natural job of differentiating each narrator's story (they were told in the first person). Certainly a haunted house story. Oyeyemi seems to be a hit or miss for me and is now leaning towards hit. I liked Icarus Girl and Boy, Snow, Bird but couldn't get into Gingerbread.

Unlike anything I’ve ever read. Wow. Tempted to go back and reread immediately.

Found this horrifyingly relatable. At first I thought it was unreadable but I continued and cringed and lived along with Nina.
