picked this up because i was in dire need of vampire fiction that wasn't suuuuuper trashy. it was alright, i got my daily dose of vampire content from it but i don't think i'll read the other books unless i need more vampires in my life. i mean, i always need more vampires in my life but i'd prefer if they weren't so serious and dramatic (and cishet white mostly men). like, i'm not here to fight i just think vampires are neat and i would like to hear their firsthand accounts of different historical events. 4 stars for my vampire bias.

i love jovis so much. i like the other characters too but jovis <3333 loml. also i see people saying the multiple perspectives were confusing but tbh i could understand everything perfectly, i liked the constant switching bc it kept my attention span on its toes and through each different perspective you can slowly put the pieces of the puzzle together it’s very satisfying also i love jovis
