Nightshade by @autumnwoods.author is a dark academic romance book set at an elite university inside a rainy, gloomy castle hiding in the Scottish Highlands.

Ophelia and Alex's quick-witted exchanges had me laughing out loud from the very start! Their grumpy personalities made them a great match, and the tension between them was *chefs kiss* 👌

Ophelia starts as an outcast but quickly finds herself with real friends, and I loved how she was able to rely on them throughout the book (insert found family 🤍).

Ophelia's internal battle with whether or not she could really pursue a relationship with Alex was tough, especially after Alex let himself finally be selfish and admit he wants to be with her! 

Poor sweet Alex has so much on his shoulders, and the time he spends with his mom and sisters had my heart melting. He is definitely high on my book boyfriend list🫠

The underlying mystery throughout the book was difficult to try to figure out, and although I thought I had it, the ending of the book proved me wrong! The cliffhanger at the end left me with so many questions and can't wait to see what happens next!
