Really interesting read that left me with a lot to think about. Definitely idealistic and not everything written about is fully feasible in our world today but a lot to aspire to!

I was already on the fence about this book and the "twist" really soured my opinion. This book meandered quite a bit and I don't think the payoff was worth it. I would read more from this author though.

Weirdly I think most of my enjoyment of this book came from the twist being spoiled before I read it weirdly enough.

knowing Daisy is dead made it so interesting to see how no one ever technically responded to her or interacted with her. This made for a super fun read.

I enjoyed this one! Reminded me of the Sylvia Plath poem about the fig tree. I enjoyed the thought experiment and the story generally, a bit slow in the middle but not bad.

Decided to keep going with this while I waited on my library holds. If it wasn't for that I probably would've DNF'd. The second half of the book is a lot better than the first, I found Theo really unlikable to the point that the second half of the book and Kit's perspective to be almost like a whole separate book.
also for a book focused on a sex game I felt like a lot was held back and the book imo was not particularly sexy until near the very end.
McQuiston's books are really all over the board for me in terms of quality but I probably will keep trying them.

Uncultured by Daniella Mestyanek Young

I feel like I say this about every memoir I read (and finish) but quite possibly one of the most impactful books I've read. Mestyanek Young has full control over her story and expertly weaves it with commentary from her current insights. The epilogue was beautiful and I'll be thinking about it for a long time.
