The Gunslinger by Stephen King

This book is like a juvenile fantasy acid trip born from a young Stephen King and influenced by Browning and Tolkien… and it’s just the best. “Might you look through and discover our entire universe is but part of one atom on a blade of grass? Might you be forced to think that by burning a twig you incinerate an eternity of eternities? That existence rises not to one infinite but to an infinity of them?” Really love how all my predictions were either refined or completely wrong in the end and can’t wait to get started on the next one. Also can’t wait to see more crossing between this series and characters or storylines from some of my other favorite King novels!

Loved listening to this! I knew I would be infuriated since we all know how this ends (it doesn’t), but it’s worth it. Highly recommend! (Also, I definitely had to read chapter analyses sometimes to understand exactly what was going on, but that made it more fun!)
