challenging informative slow-paced

Most of this book is about outdated war tactics and strategies of the warring states period. Not necessarily the life guide book some make it out to be, that said there are some interesting pieces of advice that can be found within. Not necessarily an enjoyable read, but not something I disliked either as someone who is used to reading primary sources. I did find it worth the read personally, but might not recommend it to others.

A fun way to learn more about Eastern Roman history. I was pleasantly surprised by this book. Enjoyed getting a glimpse into Eastern Roman life through these Characters eyes.
