- enemies to lovers (debatable)
- age gap
- amnesia trope (with a twist)
- fated mates
- touch her and ☠️

Selene, a young witch whose magic eats her memories, drunkenly books a trip to South America to set off on a quest that will get her into a coven who has repeatedly rejected her because of magical memory problem.

On her way there she gets waylaid by a magical force that calls to her, finds herself a sassy familiar, and accidentally awakens an ancient evil—Memnon—who also happens to believe she is his wife.

As if that weren’t bad enough, Selene gets mixed up in some dark magic shenanigans, gets framed for murder, and the only one who can help her is the one person she’s trying to avoid—Memnon.

Honestly, I was really surprised at how much I enjoyed this, especially after how much I did not like The Four Horsemen series.

I thought the concept of Selene losing her memories (and not knowing which ones she’s lost) when she uses her magic was interesting, loved the witchy academy and paranormal community that was introduced, and I even liked the whole soulmates/past life thing going on.

I will say it did take me a minute to get into because the first part about Selene’s quest, plane crash, and awakening Memnon doesn’t really mesh that well with the rest of the book, but overall I really liked this!

Holy cannoli, what a fucking ride!!

I’ve thoroughly enjoyed The Exodus series, but this has to be hands down my favorite read so far. Jaxon and Dahlia are everything, and I loved how absolutely unhinged and possessive he was of her.

- taboo romance (half siblings)
- secret society
- plus size + mental health rep
- obsessive + possessive morally grey MMC
- hurt x comfort
- virgin MCs

They could never make me like you, Margot. NEVER.

I would like to return to a time when I did not read this tbh, because literally all of Margot's problems could have been solved by calling the cops.
