The dual audio narrations of this series are truly a delight. I enjoyed this one just as much as the first one and found myself laughing out loud several times!

I've read everything Ali Hazelwood has ever written. Long, short, spicy, YA...all of it. Something about the way she writes (maybe as a fellow (former for me) scientist) just tickles my brain. Overall I really enjoyed this book even if one of the characters is the absolute worst - Pen, ugh. Scarlett and Lukas were adorable and I could tell (as usual) how much research AH put in to bringing a sport to life. Also loved that we got Olive and Adam again!  I saw some criticisms that this was too spicy but I'd say it's right in the middle. Maybe 3/5🌶️ and for the main characters allegedly being into BDSM it was pretty tame.

Did not finish book. Stopped at 50%.
This is a DNF for me. I made it 50% and the thought of doing like 300 more pages and then four more books (which are way too long and could use another edit if the first one is any indication) makes me cringe. I can't stand any of these characters and the writing is subpar. Zodiac Academy wasn't a masterpiece but it was fun in comparison to this which feels like a huge slog. Going to read some synopses so I recognize them at Zodiac Academy and jump back into the OG series.

I'll devour anything AJ writes. I wanted 500 pages but I loved this short story. Cute, funny but also powerful!

I adore these books and the characters Heather Fawcett has created. She somehow manages to write a world that is both comforting and cozy but also horrifying. The descriptions of some of the fae folk will seriously make your skin crawl. At the same time there are beautiful descriptions and an engaging story with lovable characters that makes you feel like you are truly on an academic adventure with Emily and Wendell. Overall this is a lovely fantasy series and beautifully written. I can't wait to go back for book 3.

TikTok convinced me to listen to the audio and it was fun even though this isn't my usual type of romance.  I did find some parts quite cringey, like the mentions of ovaries exploding or "immediately ovulating" 🫠

This book could have been 50% shorter is Evie and Trystan would just communicate.

Rebecca Yarros, the woman that you are. Was it perfect? No. But I enjoyed every damn second of it and will be pining for the next book and ruminating over all our unanswered questions for the next year plus.

The audiobook if this was 10/10 narration by Joe Arden and Lucy River. Like damn. Such an enjoyable listen. Overall I liked the story. It had Dexter vibes and I found myself laughing out loud multiple time. It's a slow burn but once you get to the spice it is VERY spicy.

This is a book for the book lovers who have ever wanted to live in the world of their books. I really enjoyed this. As with all of Ashley's books there's a bit of magic infused and a bit of disbelief required. This was a cozy and sweet read with a little twist at the end that surprised me.
