I have no idea why people like this book.
I get the message, but it's not beautifully written or entertaining so.. Sorry :/

Did not finish book. Stopped at 22%.
I rarely don't finish books, but I really couldn't keep reading this. I found it boring and I'd lose focus pretty often. I'm sure others may enjoy it though :)

The Henna Wars by Adiba Jaigirdar

3.5

"The henna wars" is a YA novel whose main character is a Muslim Bengali girl who wants to come out to her parents as a lesbian.
I really loved the way this book navigated difficult topics such as being outed, microaggressions, racism, homophobia... Etc.
I didn't enjoy it that much though, as the style was too simple for my taste and the plot kind of repetitive and boring.
On the other hand I feel that this would be a great book for younger readers and to queer poc that want a lighthearted (check tws tho) book where they could feel represented 💖

Beautiful World, Where Are You by Sally Rooney

This book, like any other Sally Rooney's, isn't for everybody.
However I cannot recommend this book enough if you're into her style. I've marked a lot of passages because they were either relatable or really reflective. It is also hopeful, kinda, and even though nothing happens in the book, it still amazed me and kept me engaged from the beginning till the end.

This book was a perfect gothic novel with an amazing plot. I highly suggest it!!
the only thing is that the whole mushroom plotwist wasn't really a plotwist and kinda anticipated from the beginning of th book.
