The book was well written and it is easy to follow. I enjoyed the plot, even though I felt as though some of the chapters were in the wrong place. I also appreciated the author letting us know whether an event was occurring now or in the past. I wish that the characters Meg and Richard had their own chapters to give their viewpoints about certain issues that were happening. Nonetheless, the book keeps you wanting to read, even though it is time to put it down.
I did not enjoy the writing style of the author. I also think that the story line drug on, and didn’t really hook me until the end. I felt as though I was only reading to finish. I did enjoy the plot twists. I did appreciate the author keeping me on my toes about the mystery. Just when I thought the mystery was solved, another character was thrown in the mix and you were led on another goose chase.
Because this book won four awards, I assumed that I was going to thoroughly enjoy it. The storyline was easy to follow & I enjoyed the character development. However, I was able to figure out the plot of the story early on, which led to the book becoming one that I just wanted to hurry up and finish. This book would be perfect for any parent who has a teenage son that is trying to discover himself and who he really is.
