Spontaneous Particulars: The Telepathy of Archives by Susan Howe
chopping towards something lovely. Iwanted a little more but it's nice to build the SH picture
Dora Bruder by Patrick Modiano
first modiano, much appreciated. Picking through a narrow history in Sebaldian fashion, dipping into the maelstrom. Collapse of memory not in the bitter term psychogeography but thru urban collapse & replacement, post-war smearing. will get 2 more
Mrs S by K. Patrick
mixed responses - k patrick's writing is great, staccato rhythms, I think this abruptness works and its nice to see it in this more languorous setting rather than, say, mccarthy's wild west . the dynamic between our protagonist & Mrs s is about as typical as you get for lesbian romance (although a few scenes enliven it) - so much so that I feel the latter half's emphasis on CLICHE as a motif, a theme, speaks broader. if, Romantically, the moon, the Atlantic are lesbian, why not cliche itself? maybe maybe
Letters Against the Firmament by Sean Bonney
at one point, Sean mentions Coltrane's Live in Seattle album & I think that's ESSENTIAL listening alongside this book. what a wonder. the future fury of it all
Best Barbarian: Poems by Roger Reeves
following Baldwin, who spiritually opens this collection, I find it nice to read this in the spirit of Go Tell it On the Mountain w/ the apocalyptic themes & fire fire.... enjoyed sustaining musics
Blade Pitch Control Unit by Sean Bonney
bonney's militant poetics i'm working into .... & eventually arrive at the later work .... I'm excited
