A Poisoned Season by Tasha Alexander

This is an enjoyable, light, historical mystery, with a dash of romance. It's a sequel to And Only to Deceive, which I will have to go back and read. I'm glad that, even though she has several suitors, her relationship with one in particular does progress. I am tired of books featuring relationships that never go anywhere and ones where the woman can't decide which of the number of handsome, interesting men she should choose.

Roe is a librarian who is a member of the Real Murders Society, an assorted gorup of people interested in historical mysteries. Then, someone starts to recreate the murders, placing Roe in the middle of a real life mystery, one with people she knows starting as the suspects, victims and investigators. It's an okay book, interesting, but nothing outstanding.

I love the Arcane Society novels. This one was a great blend of danger, mystery and romance.

I love a good, sappy romance occastionally, and this fits the bill. This one tells the story of Kate Drake. It's got a danger, the Drake sisters using their powers, sex and love. Of course, there's a happy ending.

I thought that this book was even more enjoyable that the first. We get to learn more about Kat, and of course Sebastian is just a great character, if slightly too perfect.

I absolutely love Mercy. She is such a strong, wee-developed character. Also, in this book she finally chooses which man she wants to be with, which I was happy about.

This book is aimed mostly at Christian women who are mothers and wives. Davis makes you look at how you relate to time. She encourages you to realize that all time is God's time and how you choose to use it is up to you. She has a few good, concrete suggestions, too, like learning to say no to things you're not called to do, actually keeping a time journal for a week and seeing if your priorities match where you spend your time, and keeping a Sabbath.

This was a fun, easy book. It has romance, mystery and, of course, the requisite dysfunctional family and good friends. The characters were really enjoyable.

This is the first in the Craft Corner Mystery series. I just didn't find the main character, Jo, that believable.

Like all of the Dresden files so far, I enjoyed this one. I think one reason I liked it better than some of the others is that this one is mostly about the action and Harry's moral choices. Maybe I was in the mood for action, not emotions.
