Came for the meme, was not particularly interested in staying. I did like the author’s reflections and voice but wasn’t interested in the story.

I always love a queer coming of age story 💕

I found the illustrations hard to follow, I particularly got lost with being able to identify the characters. The characters also felt a bit flat to me at times.

A powerful collection of memories from the Aunties and Uncles. 

I love this series.

Some very interesting knowledge in this book. I struggled to follow the subject changes and understand what the cohesion was for the whole book. I think some topics were covered too much and others were barely mentioned in passing that would have been great to delve into a bit more. The pitfall of any generalized topic book, too much of some things and not enough of everything else!

In particular the author’s passion for cuneiform was very fun 

This story manages to tackle some very big issues in a way that still feels like a poppy hopeful love story. So beautiful.

Very wholesome story

Very silly and fun, I genuinely laughed out loud several times. 

I would have loved a bit more of a narrative, but that’s just me being picky.
