Gets stronger once Kimmerer starts moving into the argument for gift economies and looks at examples that exist today. I agree with her thesis, I just wanted more of it before the bragging about having better neighbors than me. Also wish these quotes / citations got more lead in and analysis. Again, I agree with her thesis, but some randoms get no introduction!

Weakest entry. Parts 2 and 3 slow to a crawl with the unengaging Parshendi backstory and the science experiments with exhaustive detail. Maybe makes up a third of the book, and this is a long, long book.
