That I can feel your skin against mine, and it makes every bone in my body ache? That, for a few moments, I can hold my breath and be back there with you, in a dream, in a thousand rooms, nowhere at all?"

Red, White & Royal Blue is a wholesome, cute book about two people falling in love while also withstanding the public scrutiny and issues thrown at them.

“Marianne had the sense that her real life was happening somewhere very far away, happening without her, and she didn't know if she would ever find out where it was or become part of it.”

There's just literally no way that you could finish this without actually feeling devastated towards the end. In fact, I could read this over and over and still feel the same hollowness I felt the first time. In conclusion: my mental suffering persists after reading this book.
