Scottish Lycans?! I'm Game...

Picking up where Book One left off, we find Luca, the tortured half-crazy brother of Ren in a deep depression after living centuries without finding his fated mate.

Just when he had given up all hope and decided to put on a happy-face at his younger brother's mating ceremony (sort of like a wedding), he locks gazes with his mate, Ainslee, one of the guests hailing from Scotland, attending with her vampire mother, Lycan father and Lycan triplet brothers.

Unmated for centuries mentally, Luca is one sandwich short of a picnic. So, when he finally finds his mate he tries to claim her in the middle of the reception, in front of everyone and doesn't give a damn about protocol or his brother's ceremony. Unfortunately for him, having a conniption in a room full of Lycans and Vampires isn't very cash-money. So, in an attempt to protect their innocent daughter/sister... the half-Vampire/ half Lycan baby of the family, they wisk her away to the private jet back to Edinburgh. Of course, tthis isn't received well by Luca. He is a man consumed and determined after waiting centuries. If they think they're gonna take his mate away from him, they are in for a rude awakening.

This book was very good. It held my attention from start to finish and I really rooted for this couple. Ainslee had to break out of her shell and be the woman she was meant to be by standing up to her overbearing father and three brothers. These brothers stopped at nothing to keep their baby sister from this lunatic lycan and the irony of what happens during the confrontation will leave you like... "Hi Mr. Pot... meet Mr. Kettle"!

If I had any complaints about this book, it would be the author including words to convey the Scottish dialect. Please... there is need to do this. I think many of your readers have watched enough Outlander episodes to grasp what a Scottish dialect sounds like. I found it sort of distracting and at times laughable!

Another wonderful book from Jenika Snow. And her wonderful writing has led me to move on to her next one... how could I not go on after the Easter Egg dropped in this book! Happy reading!

What did I just read?

In brief, we have Chloe, a young woman who was orphaned as a child and raised by a group of priests and nuns called The Order. Apparently, when Chloe took her first breath, she was damned and spent most of her life atoning for a sin that she knew nothing about. Enter soulless vampire: Asher. Chloe is his "soul-marked" and since the day she was born, she is destined to be his forever. He searched for 20 years to find the virginal Chloe, as she bares a specific mark that radiates her existence to him, and make her his forever mate, whether she is "willing" or not.

I was prepared for a sensual vampire romance, and I have no idea what I just read. Don't get me wrong... I am not a prude by any means. I love and freelance write erotica, but this was not what I signed up for. Asher was cruel and oftentimes barbaric. I didn't like him... at all. The love scenes were more like rape scenes and there was no sensuality in this story until 60% of the book was done. Instead of Chloe falling in love with Asher of her own free will, it seemed like he literally "pounded and thrusted" his way into her heart. In my opinion, Chloe fell in love with the "D", not the man! There was so much flesh tearing, forced bloodletting and consumption, and forced vampire-turning it seemed like there wasn't a human that stood a chance.

I had to check several times to make sure that I didn't stumble upon a dark romance and was being overly critical. It wasn't marketed as a dark romance. So why was it so brutal? The majority of this book made me very uncomfortable. The story was very hard to follow, and I feel as if we never got to see this couple really be in love. Truth is, when they did declare their love for one another, I didn't believe them!

If you like rough, brutal sex scenes that borderline on snuff, you will enjoy this story. Have at it!

But... Whew, Child!!!! It was just too much for me!

And the Drama Continues!

Wow! I read this book in less than 24 hrs. This book was much better than Book One because it was more sensual than the first. We got to really see a softer side of Alexius and how he treated Leandra. Lots of action and adventure. With such an explosive cliffhanger, how can I not go on to Book Three?!

Happy reading!

Very Dark Read… not what I expected but, it was OK

I’ll admit. I went into this book expecting a dark romance. I guess I was just expecting to actually receive more ‘romance’ than ‘darkness’.

Alexius is the oldest of four sexually-deviant brothers of a powerful crime family. These brothers are close knit and apparently share everything… including women. In order for Alexius to ascend to the head of the family after his father dies, he must marry.

Enter: Leandra, a poor waitress from the rough side of life. He makes her an offer of money and prestige to be his wife for six months then walk away financially set for life. She accepts and is swept up into loveless, steamy encounters with her new husband. She soon finds herself having carnal urges where her husband AND his brothers are concerned. Feelings that have her conflicted.

This book would appeal to those who enjoy reverse harem, voyeurism, and graphic sexual scenes. The underlying plot was interesting enough to compel me to read Book Two, due to the cliffhanger. It will be interesting to see how their relationship develops.

Happy reading!

Good plot but...

I wish I could give this more stars. I don't have a big problem with the story more or less. The Hero was a bit over the top with his cruelty and the heroine was a little erratic and silly at times but that was understandable due to the actions of the hero.

The "aha" moment was a bit of a reach. I really don't like when the hero and heroine are ties together through too many "coincidences". Which was the case with this story. Some things really didn't make sense. For example, he is the head of a powerful Bratva and can move mountains to make things happen and get what he wants but he can't acquire a simple service dog without cutting through the paperwork required, home visit, and other red tape? Gimme a break!

Ended in a cliffhanger and I'll move on to the next book. However, if it starts out with too much of the same from this book, with the hero not softening in the least to the heroine, back to the shelf it will go!

Happy reading!

Wait... no 'dark' moment?! This is a first!

This will be the first time that I've ever read a romance story where there were absolutely no dark moments.

And I'm not mad at it! I actually loved it!

Very easy read and it kept me engaged from start to finish. Ren and Mikalina were a match made in heaven. I loved both characters and rooted for them from start to finish.

The best part of this book was the ending where I was pleasantly surprised to meet the next characters in the series... I don't much remember their names but all I know is that they are Scottish Lycans! LOL So, I am already "skipping my loo" to book #2!!! Can't wait to read Luca's story and see him finally get his mate!

Highly recommend!

OMG... Arlo and Galina set the pages on fire!

This was the first book of the Trilogy and it’s off to a great start! I loved Arlo and Galina! They were a great match and I loved that Arlo wasn’t afraid to tell her he loved her, which isn’t often the case in these types of novel.

Galina was strong and very likeable as the heroine of this story! I rooted for this couple the whole book and I loved how Arlo settled the score for Galina. Also, he was hot AF! LOL

Highly recommended!

A decent read.

I wasn’t as ga-ga over Nikolai as I was with Arlo and Ruin.

Nevertheless, it was a very good read. Nikolai and Amara are a very likable couple. I would have loved to see Gio get his own story but the Trilogy was very satisfying.

I purchased the other two without reservation after reading them in Kindle Unlimited. But, I think I’ll just send this one back.

O-M-G! I was not ready for James!

This book was absolutely amazing! I couldn't put it down. This has to be the fastest that I've ever read a book. I simply could not put it down. From the opening scene to the epilogue, this book did not disappoint. I'm not going to give anything away!

I'll just say that this author did not disappoint! The way she wrote this main character was nothing short of brilliant. I am definitely going to read the rest of her novels because I like her style!

If you like stories with an Alphahole, anti-hero... this is a book you must read! Easily 5 Stars!

Just... OK

I was anticipating the release of this book after reading the first one. It was just... OK. Very wordy in some places and the story really didn't progress very much.

Imagine my surprise when I didscovered that this book was being offered in Kindle Vella... where an episode was released every week. Now I see why it dragged on.

Next time, I'll go there if I want to continue the rest of the story.

Happy reading!
