What’s essentially a Q&A/draft it’s straight to the point. It’s not trying to be a pamphlet distributed to workers to inspire them but gets right to basic questions and ideas. It’s a great starting point for those curious about communism. It’s readily available online if you don’t want to spend money on a physical copy.

The Republic of Plato by Plato

Very good read. Plato discusses what he would consider a great city through dialog. It suffers much of the problems any 2000 year old translated text. It is a fundamental philosophy/political theory book and should be read in some form by everyone.
