Faerie Godmother by Abbie Zanders

This was a lackluster book. The premise is pretty interesting, but the love interests spent too much time apart in an already short book, which made their relationship rushed and without any depth.
3 stars because it’s not a bad book, per se. Just a too short one for the idea.

This book is sooo much better than the first one. It has the same issue of being really short, but at least the love interests had plenty of page time with one another (though it’s really still a type of insta-love).
I like the world-building Abbie is hinting at and just really wish the stories were a little bit longer to explore it more.

Like the first two, the world building is pretty cool and has a lot of potential. Sadly also like the first two, the romance is just too quick.
For a minute, I thought the love interests would actually get some page time together, but after the first several pages, that’s almost it. Then they basically decide “yeah, we actually are fated mates and I want to give this a try. I love you so much.” The relationship is just too fast.
It’s a shame because the characters were great and I really think this could’ve been a phenomenal book if it wasn’t for the insta-love stuff happening.

Fantastic, light, and quick read! This was paced well for a novella and we finally (for this series) have a balance between the romance and the story.
Matt was delicious and Jessie was incredibly strong. Throughout this series, the side characters have always been strong and I look forward to (hopefully) seeing some of them get their own books.

I don’t know what it is about this book, but this is my fave Ultimate series book (tied with My Man Michael).
I know the relationship between Gillian and Drew advanced really quickly - like almost like insta-love level - (which I’m not usually a fan of), but there’s something about Drew’s protectiveness and adoration for Gillian that I adore.
Really, the only reason this isn’t a 5-star read is because I didn’t really like the side-story with Brett and Audrey. I think the premise of it is interesting, but it just didn’t really fit in this book and could’ve been its own thing. It also prevented, in my opinion, Gillian and Drew’s story from being even more fully fleshed out.
