just not quite for me. started strong and I was invested, but then i found myself just tuning out more & more as the book went on. lost interest in basically anything and everything that wasn't actively following mal, lee, or khan.

could be for someone else, but it drags a bit too much for me personally.

I can see why someone might not like scalzi's writing, I did find the way the dialog written a bit annoying, but overall I adored this. I loved the codas in the end after the main story so we could get a further sense of After & the very end made me cry.

I loved this, and I don't even watch star trek* 😅

*no the book isn't REALLY about star trek, but I did learn that red shirts is a reference to it that I didn't know but its explained well in the story without taking you out of it so it can be enjoyed without knowing anything about ST. like I don't! 🫶🏻
