This is the first book I've read by Layna James but I will definitely be going back for book 1 in the series. There are so many great characters. I loved Willa and their sisterly banter. 

Love triangle isn't usually a favourite of mine but it worked so well. Trevor was adorable but it showed how much chemistry there was with Hunter. The tension and angst meant I didn't want to put it down. 

Ashlie has anxiety and is a chronic people pleaser and Hunter has abandonment issues. This makes them feel so real. Their lives are messy and they both make questionable choices but I was rooting for them the whole time. I really liked that they worked on themselves separately as well instead of thinking love can fix all of their problems. 

Their friendship was beautiful and their banter was fun. The perfect blend of sweet and spicy.   

I read an ARC

I loved this book. Perfect if you love your romance to have a side of angst like I do. There's some extra drama to keep you on the edge of your seat. Don't worry though it's still a HEA and the romance is so sweet and packed full of tension all the way up to the "fuck it". 

 Leo is a bit of a dick to start with but it's fun to watch his growth. Brynn is badass from the start. She's just an all around incredible character and I love that she didn't take any shit from Leo. The way she was with Salem and Ivy was heart melting. Her vulnerability was beautiful and she also showed so much growth. I did briefly wanna punch her brother but I can't wait for his book. I laughed so much when he realised what he had heard. The bros were so funny and the found family and the way they rally around Salem was super cute.

I read an ARC

I am obsessed with this series. I have devoured every book and I don't think I can pick a favourite. It was great to see more of Isla, Owen, Brair & Leo and well as the rest of the girl gang. The friendships are such a strong part of the series. I can't wait for Coopers book. 

Anna is the Queen of slow burn and this book is no exception but as always it is worth the wait. This was such a beautiful story. The way it dealt with grief by keeping lost ones near by talking about them and their memories made my heart swell. It made me cry several times but there were plenty of giggles as well. 

Heidi and Emmett are so cute together. I loved that Heidi was honest about what she wanted from the start even when she was questioning everything. And I especially loved that she called Emmett out on his shit. I definitely related to her and feeling left behind. 

As always the kids steal the show. I adored Juniper and her chaotic energy. Her and Elara are the cutest friends. The animals cracked me up. Theodore & the skunks were the highlight of the book.  

I read an ARC

I didn't enjoy this one as much as the first one and I think a lot of that was due to the MMC overusing his nickname for the FMC. He uses it and the end of every sentence. I was curious and searched on my kindle and the term little viper was used 193 times. It kinda gave me the ick. 

I did love that it is set at exactly the same time as Quiver so you get to see what was happening behind closed doors when they were being suspicious. Aiyana and Kas are adorable together. The way they looked after each other melted my heart. It was nice to see some endometriosis representation and we love a guy that goes to therapy. There was some of the dreaded miscommunication but it wasn't drawn out and the end was cute. 

There are so many lovable side characters and I enjoyed getting to see even more of Alessandro's chaotic family. The epilogue was beautiful. I will definitely be checking out Quake. 

I don't know why I can't stop reading this series. After the shooting book and then Stuarts book I vowed I was done yet here I am. 

Yet another cliff hanger ending which irritates me and I guessed where it was going but hoped I was wrong. It just seems like the reveals are purely for shock value regardless of whether they make sense. Matlida needs to catch a break and definitely find a new job. 

Will I be back to read book 13? Probably because apparently I'm a glutton for punishment and also I need to know how the case is resolved and whether Matilda ends up on a psych ward. 

On the plus side I do love Matilda and her team, there are so many great characters, and the story did keep me engaged. Adele being replaced by an O'dell made me laugh. 

I was torn on the rating but lets go with a generous 3 because the case did suck me in and the series obvioulsy has something to keep me coming back.
