Not knowing that this is going to be a trilogy, that ending seriously caught me off guard! Despite thinking everything was going to wrapped up in this one, I’m certainly not objecting to a third book.
The beginning of this book was odd for me as it took me a while to readjust to the characters, and fully remember the plot of the first one. But after a little while, I got SUPER into it!! The new characters were great, and the plot, I think, was just as good as it’s predecessor!

All I’d heard about this book before reading it was that it’s essentially a wild-west fantasy - aka my dream book. Safe to say, it lived up to that expectation. Can’t wait to read the rest of the series.

Poetic and poignant. Stunningly real characters, every moment had such meaning and emotion. Loved it.

Ok... wow. I wasn’t expecting any of that.
The sci-fi elements were so detailed and well-written, and Romy’s character was just the same. If the book continued how I thought it would from the beginning, then that would be all I have to say about it.
However.
Halfway through the book and... oh? Plot twists you say??? As I hadn’t read anything about this book other than it’s blurb, it was a surprise, to say the least, when the twists starting coming in. The plot got deep and dark in the best ways possible.
An absolutely thrilling read with such an incredible depth to the plot considering the low page count.

A thrilling sequel. De Castell’s writing was a joy to read as always!
