I Feel Bad About My Neck: And Other Thoughts on Being a Woman by Nora Ephron

The lightness and humour in these essays make them very easy to read, but they also hold some deeper merit. Happy to have read this collection and will read others.

I'm not sure if I was supposed to take this book seriously or if it's meant to be tongue in cheek. Mentally I had to go with the an almost pantomime interpretation for it to have any merit. I never enjoy the idea of "love at first sight" and all the characters are very flawed, over dramatic, ludicrously impulsive and selfish. A "nice guy" "falling in love" with a woman he's literally just met and coming on way too strong, and she, playing him like a fiddle then strolling off arm in arm with her preferred guy. I don't really understand how some people find this romantic, or a good representation of yearning love.
However in combination with the pace it somehow created a whimsical and almost fun read. Besides that I did enjoy the style and pace of the writing. It gives me hope that I will enjoy his other works.

One of the most fun books I've read in a long time, characters are all distinct if sometimes implausible. Genuinely made me laugh throughout.
A Wizard of Earthsea by Ursula K. Le Guin

It's a very bleak book with no humour or much wonder for a fantasy book. The plot is coherent enough with distinct characters and places. Yet everybody is dull. There's also so many names of places and people and they don't seem to actually be important.

Good world building and use of litRPG, some of the characters were well fleshed out but. The plot seemed a little. Uncertain and convoluted. But over all an enjoyable read.
