Absolute Brightness by Celeste Lecesne

Good book, tries to be about too many messages at once (tolerance, mystery, incest) but good story overall
Sleeping Freshmen Never Lie by David Lubar

FUNNY--great for boys, anyone who loves music or has had their life up-ended.
The Lightning Thief by Rick Riordan

Very Harry Potter-esque, but well written and interesting genre with the Greek god aspect.
Life As We Knew It by Susan Beth Pfeffer

You will not look at the many natural disasters on the evening news the same way again.
It really stays with you, and seeps into everyday thinking. I had to peek at the end because I could not stand the suspense.
An excellent must read--survival story at it's finest.

Day of Tears by Julius Lester

Julius Lester can write the phone book and it would be a work of art. I never thought I would enjoy a novel in verse. This is an excellent, emotional snapshot of Civil War times, short and to the point.
