I had high hopes for this book because even though Gabriel comes off as an a*hole in the Miles High Club series, if he's friends with Claire, he can't be that bad but he's worst than he was portrayed in previous books. He's the biggest a*hole, childish and just plain toxic man. The author tried to give him an arc and a redemption at the end but by then it was too late. The FMC wasn't much better either, she had no backbone, even when she was pissed at him she did nothing about it, it was so effing annoying. I was on the verge of not finishing this so many times but I pushed through and tried to finish it as fast as I possibly could.
I loved The Miles High Club series, then tried with the Mr series and all went to hell there, the men were too toxic and the women too submissive in my opinion, I soldier through the first 2 of the Mr series but when I got to Mr Garcia it became simply too much and I haven't read anything my this author since so when I found out this book was coming I decided to give her another chance and my god it was the worst decision I've made this year. Now I'm questioning if the Miles High Club was really that good or I didn't know any better because the author's writing and characterisation it's terrible, the characters lately are so freaking unlikeable, I seriously don't know if something happened to her writing or she's always been this way and I didn't notice.
I have 2 more book from her in my TBR and now I'm scared of getting to them and being disappointed again.
The only reason I'm giving this book 2 stars is because of the kids and the first 5 chapters that weren't too bad. Also the blurb is the most misleading this in the freaking world, just for that this book should have -2 stars.
