This series hit the spot so good it's incredible. I fell in love with Harley. She is a phenomenal writer. And I would have given this a 5⭐ rating but toward the end there was this one scene that just wasn't it for me. Other than that it was amazing. I just know I will be re-reading this once again.

This series is hitting all the right places right now. It's so good. Even if I take the smut out the story and the relationships are spectacular.

The romantic order of reading is absolutely doing it's job. I feel heartbroken and at the same time so numb after reading this. Sarah is an evil mastermind. I'm going to cry now.

I think the reason I never liked this book very much is because I read it in my native language. This was my first time reading it in English, and the number of things that clicked into place was insane. There is so much information that just went over my head because of translation (and don't get me wrong, the translator did a phenomenal job) This series is undoubtedly brilliant, and though this is the second book, it all gets into motion in this book.

This book is nowhere near SJM's best work, but it holds a special place in my heart. And this time, I did a deep dive, and the amount of foreshadowing and details I've missed is unreal. I only wish I could experience this for the first time again.

Red, White & Royal Blue

I did a re-read recently, and I think an updated review is in order. I don't read a lot of romance novels. They are mainly just break from fantasy. But I took pride month as an opportunity to re-read this book because I was planning on it anyway. If I can say anything, then it's this: it was even better than the first time I read it.
Alex and Henry are one of my all-time favorite couples I've ever come across. Their dynamic is so realistic. All the bickering, and even though they do steamy things together quite fast, the romance between them is a slow burn. It develops as Alex realizes his sexuality and becomes more confident in it.
I don't know that much about the politics of the US and the UK, but I think it was a very accurate description of how it looks. I can only imagine how hard it must be to constantly be in the eye of the cameras, and your every move is monitored. Dating in their positions must be tough, especially when they live on the opposite sides of the Atlantic.
Not only was the story a masterpiece, but the way this book was written is just addictive. It's hard to put down. I loved the pace of this book. In most cases, I don't like emails and texts in books. Here these things added to the story beautifully. The only thing I wasn't a big fan of was the chapter length. I prefer shorter and more frequent chapters. For a 420 pages long novel to have only 15 chapters is not enough.
One of the best books I've ever read. I more than loved that the main character was bisexual because I could connect with him that much more. I hope that I will witness the day America will have a female democratic president and the day the British monarchy will have open LGBTQ+ member. This novel gives me the hope that anything is possible, and true love, maybe, after all, exists.
