when it comes to plot twists, they can’t all be the sixth sense. interesting nonlinear narrative but the author starts to very obviously shoehorn her pro-life beliefs midway through (and if the author isn’t pro-life she has some serious work to do in the character development department). the last two pages are a joke of an attempt at pulling the rug out from under the reader. if you’re going to attempt that, you have to at least lay the rug down in the first place!

beautiful prose, though I found the allegory to be a bit too heavy-handed to be consistently engaging. often found myself zoning out and having to draw myself back in. not for the casual reader (can I introduce you to colleen hoover?)
