My second favourite from Shakespeare.

I only read about 70 pages into this book before giving up. I am going to try re-reading it at a later date.

An alright read.

I regret not reading this book sooner. It was a gorgeous book and filled with some of the most fascinating characters I have ever met.

I loved being immersed in a world of books with people who love books and characters from books.

I really enjoyed the quotes from different books before each chapter, it made the reading even more fun.

I wish I could read some of my favourite characters out of books and spend time with them, better yet I wish I could be read into some of my favourite books and live in that world.

I read this after watching Season One and I have to say that the books just bore me. The show is so much better.

Again I read this after watching Season One of TVD and I just don't like the books at all.

I went through a phase where I was looking for a new path in life and I thought Wicca would be that way. I studied this book day and night and thought I'd found it. Although I found it insightful it wasn't the way for me. An interesting enough read though.

"I'll repeat the oath first. I solemnly swear to be faithful to my bosom friend, Diana Barry, as long as the sun and moon shall endure. Now you say it and put my name in."

I regret not reading this book earlier than this because it is such a stunningly gorgeous book. The thing I love most about this book is the undying friendship between Anne and Diana. I love the phrase 'bosom friend' so much and it's such a cute thing that Anne says over and over. Avonlea is described in glorious detail and sounds like the perfect place to grow up, Anne's love for Green Gables is gorgeous and heart-breaking.

The book follows the life of Anne Shirley, a poor orphan that is taken in my Mr and Mrs Cuthbert despite the fact that they had originally meant to adopt a boy. At first Mrs Cuthbert isn't to fond of Anne but makes it her mission to bring the girl up good and proper, Mr Cuthbert loves her immediately and finds her constant chatter and energy a breath of fresh air for Green Gables.

Anne is such a wonderful character, with her endless chatter and genius imagination she has certainly become one of my all time favourite literary characters. I love the names she gave to all the different locations in Avonlea and the vastness of her imagination.

As Anne gets older and becomes less and less the rule-breaking young girl she first was when she arrived at Green Gables I felt more and more connected to her. She grows up but doesn't completely lose her childhood ways, she learns to forgive her 'enemy' and becomes a wonderful young woman.
