A Man's World by Grace Newman
4.0
10/10 Pacing
We had a well written set up. The book remains interesting throughout the entire book.
8/10 Story Arc
There is a lot of behind the scenes F1 and on page racing content in this book. As a newbie to F1 (not a car enthusiast), I really was not really interested, so I scrolled passed most of these moments. It's well-written I'm sure, I personally was just not into it. All I wanted was Luca and Georgia.
8/10 Characters
We meet a few characters that I just could not get myself to be interested in, especially at the beginning. But at some point their presence is toned down a bit, and we get more of the MCs and that's all I wanted.
10/10 Inclusion of the teased tropes
The tropes came in neatly throughout the entire book. Nothing was out of place regarding the tropes. The slowburn was well done!

King of Greed by Ana Huang (352 pages)
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐:
As a book that we all (romance readers) have seen on our timeline, I can finally say that it was worth the hype. I'll get right to the part a lot of us were anxious about, the groveling. My take is that if we were to have more groveling, the book would have to have more pages. Therefore, the groveling was great. Instead of the typical, "we stay away from each other" type of groveling, Ana went another route. She did a mix of things, and I personally loved it. I was just so invested in their story. At any second I had some sort of free time, I was reading this book. Ana Huang's writing style is absolutely perfect in my eyes and I'm having a great time!
- Moving on to the other tropes, I think that the marriage in crisis was well done. I guess the author wanted to include that specific aspect (I won't say what). Many people are saying that its inclusion makes the marriage NOT in crisis anymore and I get it. I, however, think that it's inclusion was what the author had in mind for her book and that's where I leave it. It was well done anyways so I have no complaints.
- Great angst honestly but I low-key wanted Dominic to cry more.
- As a second chance romance, confessions are necessary in my opinion. Ana gives us some really heartwrenching and wholesome ones.
- Lastly, the ending fell a bit flat for me I'm not sure why. Maybe I wanted something grandiose but epilogue got that resolved. Overall, I loved it.

⭐⭐⭐⭐:
This is my first Cora Reilly book. I know I am very much late to the party. But oh my I am truly glad that I got to it now, as I am on this mafia romance binge read. To cut to the chase I simply loved this book. Actual mafia type of stuff in a mafia book that is not watered down is my Roman empire. The characters and the plot are written in such a vivid way that nothing felt unnecessary to me. There are side characters that she did not really dive into too much, but their presence was still noticeable and they had some memorable moments.
Cora's writing style had me ready to force my tired eyelids open. I just had to know what happened next. Kind of wished this was dual pov which is why it's missing a star. But I know about Luca's book so I'll read that.

We get a bit of a slowburn and then friends with benefits. It was well-written and it worked. But somehow, I felt like a little drop of something was missing.
8/10 Story Arc
It was a great story overall. A bit melo, with sports elements (healing hockey player with figure skater girl). The redeeming arc for one of the characters threw me off. It was a bit vague in my opinion, and felt unnecessary.
10/10 Characters
Great characters. None of them were written as background characters to fill space as there were no filler scenes really. Each character serves their purpose and I enjoyed reading their dialogues.
10/10 Inclusion of the teased tropes
Great inclusion of all the teased tropes. Nothing was left out or poorly executed. I loved the writing!
⭐⭐⭐⭐:
Melo romance with great banter. I instantly fell in love with Rhys. And the man is obsessed! He just wants her and Sadie just couldn't see it. It's HEA don't worry!

Another wonderful 2 day read for me. There is a bit of a slow burn in this book, but it is well done, in my opinion. Things aren't drawn out. No filler scenes and nothing feels unnecessary...as long as you continue reading.
10/10 Story Arc
I was worried at some point that so much would not be explained. But Maeve's writing hints that there is much more to the story page after page. So, I kept on reading, and the story was so full of emotion. There is anger, laughter, sadness, and the overall love that so many of the characters have for each other, not just the leads.
10/10 Characters
Blaise North, our FMC, reminded me of Belly from The Summer I Turned Pretty. Specifically, Belly's good qualities and a little bit of the quiet vibes as well. The unspoken words that end up piling up...well, Ares Hart, the MMC, does a bit of that; they both do it. But it was all settled, so I don't have any serious complaints. The other side characters also played their parts throughout the story. None of them bore me out.
10/10 Inclusion of the teased tropes
The tropes mentioned in teasers, reels, posts, and all promo content were included and well-written. None of them overpowered the other, and everything is in harmony as you progress throughout the book.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐:
I just love the writing. It was a mellow type of story. By the end, I had the same feeling I had all throughout Archer's Voice by Mia Sheridan. (Sorry about the side references and mentions. I am just trying to give y'all a vague but accurate feel of this book.) The main characters are truly soulmates, so magnetic. The heart-wrenching moments came out of nowhere. I was like, oh my gosh, please give us a happy ending, and yes, it was a happy ending. Just keep some tissues around; I don't know... maybe I'm a crybaby

9/10 Pacing
It's a slow burn but it doesn't drag. There are interruptions however. I feel like they got just a little bit too much. The MMC is a single dad (twin girls) and it's like a really close family type of home (small-town) so the interruptions made sense.
10/10 Story Arc
Great story overall! Pretty easy read, small town, almost Hallmark vibes (if you know about Hallmark movies, you know what I mean).
9/10 Characters
Lovable and fully written characters. No filler conversations nor characters. Everyone brings something to the plot. Our FMC is an ex dancer and now baker and has a vegetable garden. MMC is rich but the book doesn't focus on his wealth that much.
10/10 Inclusion of the teased tropes
The brother's bestfriend trope goes off in this! It adds a little bit of angst and I love angst. There's a constant back and forth about their intentions and how to go about it. It's a bit one sided, so guess who is more torn about it than the other?
⭐⭐⭐⭐:
This book has the best slowburn I've read all year. It's so well-done. The interruptions drove me insane and I loved it! There's also this turmoil from the MMC because of the brother's best friend element. The way the author makes you wait for it, I was like FINALLY!!!! Their chemistry, and the found family trope is elaborately written in my opinion. It's not a huge group of people but those who are present matter so much. They all care for each other and it's the sweetest.
It's a fairly light read so if you've been reading heavy stuff and want a break , definitely read Fell For You! It gets emotional but overall, it's a fluffy romance.

⭐⭐⭐⭐.25:
Let's start with characters. I loved the characters. Setting up their roles wasn't dull so each time someone came in I wasn't disinterested nor did they seem like filler. Plot, I loved! It's an arranged marriage for the benefit of their respective mafia groups and as usual, I eat that up. Now onto some specific aspects of the writing. The MMC is straight out of a Wattpad werewolf book because why is this man growling in her ear?!? Snarls, smirks, and so much growling!!! I had to just move on and ignore. At some point, I couldn't help but giggle because that's what the author wanted. Under no circumstances did the author NOT notice how much he's raising the alphahole levels of this man. So, the author wanted us to have a giggle. But in all seriousness, Ares is hot. There's something he does to punish 2 guys who harassed Neve and I was like

⭐⭐⭐⭐:
I am not a mafia romance connoisseur but I hope to be one day because this is a sub-genre that I live and breathe. So when I say I haven't seen that much of black people as MCs in mafia romance books it might come from a place of me just not knowing them. However, there's no way that we can deny that the typical mafia stories are not that inclusive. What I loved about this book was that the MCs were existing and thriving in their world. The realities of discrimination were highlighted but it did not take away from their power as people in their mafia world. I wanted more mafia dealings, talks, fights, and overall more conflict.
Onto Lucia, our FMC!!! Omg she's amazing!!! Woman by Ke$ha describes her fully. She doesn't lose her character just because she falls in love and I liked that aspect. She loves Enzo, the MMC, and their connection is just so electric but she stands her ground and I love it! Oh and Enzo, he's so obsessed with her! I'll give y'all a quick incentive to read this book. The MCs fight. And it's not your typical unfair fight, they both bring it! Like serious fight, "I'm mad at you fight" and it was everything!! Ugh, Asia Monique does the thing given that this is book 1 of the series.
