I will definitely be re reading this from time to time. It’s a gentle reminder that “art for arts sake” is not the real reason artists create whether they know it or not. This especially hits home with this new surge of AI generated art. I recently saw a post about a movie that was written and generated by AI and it got me thinking, why don’t we have AI do all of the jobs we as humans don’t want to do, let’s automate the other jobs that way humans are free to create art again? Leave the art to the humans and let the robots do the tasks we don’t want to, that’s not what the people in charge want but wouldn’t that be nice?
