I’m a huge mystery fan so was excited to read books from this series. I wasn’t very blown away with the second novel (The Mystery Guest), but was hopeful I’d feel differently about the debut. Unfortunately it just wasn’t my cup of tea. The writing is crisp and clear, and the premise is very interesting. The mystery itself and the cast of characters don’t quite draw me into the story, and the final reveal of who did the murder felt incredibly lukewarm especially with how everything was set up.
