I really enjoy these mysteries!! This is seriously such a fun book and so clever and witty. Just like the first book in the series, it is engaging and unique and has a fresh, funny narrative. I find myself relating to the main character with her self deprecating humor and anxious thoughts. The way the mystery is laid out is really smart and I’ll probably never guess correctly. I am really looking forward to the next book in the series! Those who enjoy comedic mysteries by Benjamin Stevenson would really enjoy this author too! Other comedic mysterious that I have read are usually pretty predictable but not the 2 that I have read from this author. They are written really well and although there were so many times that “I didn’t see that coming,” it was still acceptable and followed the laws of mystery novels. Like, the author didn’t bring in a random character 70% of the way into the story and they end up being the suspect and you’re like well wtf did I just read that 70% for. Right? Her twists are all very clever, I’m just not smart enough to piece it together and solve it on my own I guess. Which I’m fine with because I read this book in a day. It was definitely a page turner!
I definitely plan on purchasing this book when released and I have already told several friends to look out for this book!
Many thanks to NetGalley and St. Martin’s Press/Minotaur Books for an electronic ARC in exchange for an honest review!
